+ Read Scripture

Luke 2:1-7

1 In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be registered. 2 This was the first registration when Quirinius was governor of Syria. 3 And all went to be registered, each to his own town. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the town of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and lineage of David, 5 to be registered with Mary, his betrothed, who was with child. 6 And while they were there, the time came for her to give birth. 7 And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in swaddling cloths and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn.

Talk Sheet Questions

  1. In what part of your life does it seem hardest to believe, “Jesus has felt this, too”?

  2. Where do you feel weak, vulnerable, or dependent on others? How does it change your perspective to know that Jesus, in his perfection, felt the same way?

  3. Which element of Jesus’ earthly existence—his birth, his life, his suffering, or his death—speaks most to you? Why?

  4. What would be different if you truly believed God was with you? (Remember: In Christ, he is!)

  5. Who is God leading you to tell about the good news of Jesus?

Prayer

Pray that we would believe God is always with us!

There will be no Talk Sheet for the week of December 31-January 6. Have a happy New Year. Talk Sheets will be back after that.
