Do you wish prayer were more natural for you? That prayer was a reflex whenever you worry, need guidance, or face temptation? The Pray First emphasis for the summer is for you! Hopefully, everyone who participates will develop a habit of praying first; we can’t develop a habit of prayer in a single day of prayer each month.
Pray First is both a matter of time and priority. Certainly, do it first thing before you do anything else. But also pray as a matter of first importance.
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people…” (1 Timothy 2:1)
Think of it this way: when you get up in the morning — Pray First. When your spouse says something unkind to you, before you respond — Pray First. If you are going to post on social media — Pray First. If you are thinking of selling your home — Pray First. If you want to have a neighbor over for a BBQ — Pray First. Fill in the blank — Prayer First!
Make a commitment to Pray First. Together, we’ll help each other pray. Once you make the Pray First Commitment below, you will be redirected to a place where you can find graphics and apparel to help keep Pray First at the forefront of your mind. Thank you for praying.
Hopefully, this will have life-long effects, but our church will focus on it from June 1 through August 31.
